New features added to Libby and BorrowBox

These new features will make your eReading experience even faster and more enjoyable! 

Helpful new features are now available on the Libby by Overdrive and BorrowBox apps. Don't forget to update your apps on your device to get the full enhanced experience! 

Libby now supports nine additional languages

The Libby app now supports browsing in nine additional languages. 

All of the helpful Libby information and guides can be updated to your preferred language! Libby will automatically use the language your device or web browser is currently using. eBooks and eAudiobooks remain in their original languages. 

You can now browse collections, search for specific titles, get help and more in the following languages:

English
Spanish
French (Canada)
Simplified Chinese
Traditional Chinese
German
Italian
Japanese
Russian
Swedish

If you'd like to use Libby in a different language than your device, go to the Libby menu, select Get Some Help, then Choose Your Language. Read more about changing your language options on the Libby Help page.

BorrowBox accessibility features

BorrowBox has a wide range of popular fiction with a good selection of New Zealand and Australian writers.

To encourage the pleasure of listening and reading for everyone, we are pleased to showcase BorrowBox’s latest accessibility and inclusivity features.
  • Everyone listens differently, and with the new playback-speed option in the BorrowBox app you can enjoy eAudiobooks at your own pace.
  • The BorrowBox app is now optimised to work with Apple's VoiceOver functionality. This enables the eBook to be read aloud simply by tapping the screen.
  • iOS and Android eBook readers have the option of a dyslexia-friendly font which makes the text more readable for some readers with dyslexia.
  • Adjustable themes in the BorrowBox app enable everyone to create their own preferred eBook reading experience. Change the background colour, font or text size as preferred.
