Ōrewa Library temporary closure for major upgrade

Ōrewa Library is getting a major makeover! This exciting transformation will begin in June. A temporary mini library will be set up nearby at the Ōrewa Community Centre.   This major upgrade will address ongoing maintenance needs and ensure the library continues to meet the growing demand from our community.  What to expect during the closure  Ōrewa library will be closed from 10 June for approximately 15 months to allow for construction. For the first month, you can access services and council resources at Whangaparoa Library. From 8 July a temporary mini library will open in the small hall at the nearby Ōrewa Community Centre. Our dedicated library staff are committed to minimising disruption. They'll be readily available at the mini library to assist you with accessing available services and resources.  Why the upgrade?  The upgrade will make the library more usable by rearranging the existing space and adding a new middle floor. Online services outage

Due to maintenance, our online library services will be unavailable on: Thursday, 16 May, 6am - 7am The outages will include searching for library items in the library catalogue, logging in and managing your account, paying online and joining the library.   The outages will also affect our eCollections platforms, the Auckland Libraries app and our eLearning resources. Our apologies for this inconvenience.

Council services: temporary interruption in libraries

Due to an ICT system update this weekend, there will be a brief interruption to Council services within our libraries.  Some services (including payments) will still be available through the Auckland Council website .  The interruption will occur at the following times: Saturday 11 May: 2 – 4 pm Sunday 12 May: 6 am – 5 pm During this period, in-person Council services will be unavailable at these libraries: Takapuna Library Te Manawa (Westgate) Kumeū Library Helensville Library Sir Edmund Hillary Library (Papakura) Pukekohe Library Central City Library Manukau Library Ōrewa Library Waitākere Central Library (Henderson) Warkworth Library Waiheke Library We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience.
